
School of Medicine Curriculum Committee Update
The School of Medicine (SOM) Curriculum Committee resumes meeting for the 2025-26 academic year in August with a new chair, Dr. Austin Harrison. Her term as chair is four-years with the chair-elect assuming the role of chair afterwards.
Dr. Harrison is a professor and vice chair for faculty development in the Department of Pediatrics. Prior to being elected to serve as the chair of the SOM Curriculum Committee, Dr. Harrison served as chair of the Curriculum Development and Innovation (CDI) Subcommittee from 2020-24. She has also served as a member of the Curriculum Redesign Task Force, the Evaluation and Assessment Subcommittee of the SOM Curriculum Committee, and the Clinical Sciences Subcommittee of the SOM Curriculum Committee. As chair of the CDI Subcommittee, Dr. Harrison led in the revision of the SOM’s educational program objectives (EPOs).
Dr. Harrison serves as the clinical course director for the pre-clinical Musculoskeletal and Integumentary Systems and associate director for the third-year pediatrics clerkship.
